The PRO hoop can be opened with one hand...and held with one finger during the 'pass'...but you will need two hands to close it. I do not find this to be a problem or even an issue. After the pass I use a linking ring display to apparently show the hoop all over...in this action the hoop is locked and be freely shown...I actually like this display very much.

In the end it all depends on your budget for the prop...I personally am very happy with the PRO Hoop.

FedEx just dropped off my rings. Two words can describe my first reaction, "HOLY COW!". To look at the rings online doesn't do them justice. Looking at the rings, they appear to quite heavy....until you hold them. Pretty much feather weight. I'm in awe. How something can look so solid and be so light is impressive. They DO ring like a bell, Almost like a wind chime. Thank you so much for dealing with me on getting these. When I placed my order, however long ago it was, I figured I'd have them in plenty of time for my show (starting tomorrow) this weekend. Remote Control Ghost Post
Doug. I have been using this all the time and it gets a great reaction. I tie a spectator into the post and explain that Houdini performed this over 80 years ago (a lie, but makes it interesting!). I explain the spectator will make a Houdini escape in one second. When I raise the curtain and lower it, and the ropes are on the floor it gets an immediate reaction from the audience. It really is a fun illusion to perform and is perfect for the one man show, which I am.

This effect is unusual, different and will entertain the audience. I presented it once as a comedy routine and on a different occassion I presented it as a more serious effect. Both times the spectators' reactions were the same:wow!!! Everytime I performed this effect, without exception I was approached by members of the audience telling me that they could not beleive how my hand went through the spinning fan blades.

I just received the Improved Fandemonium by Devin Knight. It is an extremely visual and entertaining alternative to the typical card sword or guillotin effects. I have not used it in a performance yet but I will give you my preliminary opinion about it.

You received an ingeniously gimmicked fan that is approximately 10" x 10". It looks perfectly normal, like any small fan you would see in any home or office. However, it is very cleverly gimmicked. You talk about how in the middle ages, if the magician did not perform well, the King would have the magician's hands cut off. You turn on the fan which is standing on your table. The audience can clearly see the fan blades spinning around. You say that you will attempt to perform the a trick and if you fail, you will push your hand into the spinning fan only to have your hand and fingers mangled. You hope you have practiced this trick enough. Just in case you don't succeed, you cover the front part of the fan with a board to prevent any blood and severed fingers from messing up the stage or getting on the people in the front. You heard about another magician doing this same trick and he forgot to put on the board. Not only is he now working as a shoe salesman but you should have seen the dry cleaning bill that he had to pay. (My line, not part of the instructions)

The cloth also has a panel to stick your hand through. Even though the front part of the fan is covered, there is a hole in the middle of the board so that everyone can clearly see that the middle of the fan is still spinning. There is a large star printed in the middle knob of the fan so that the entire audience can see that the blades are turning. The blades are indeed turning. You can also hear the fan turning. YOu can even pick up the fan and turn it around to show everyone from teh back that the blades are in fact spinning quite fast.

You take out a deck of cards and have someone select a card. The card is the nput back in the deck. You state that if yuo fail to find the selected card, you will thrust your hand, the hand that supports and feed your family, the hand that is your livlihood, the hand that keeps you out of jail (my lines, not part of the official routine) inot the fan and right through the blades leaving your hand a mangled, unrecognizable mess. You go through the cards and take out a card. You rpoudly show it to the spectator adn ask if this is her card. She says no. You then get a bit nervous, and again look through the deck with a bit more hesitation. You take out another card and show it. Again the spectator says it is not her card. A promise is a promise. So you take the card taht you took out and thrust your hand into the fan and right through the spinning blades. Your hand emerges from the other side with a torn, mangled card in your hand. The torn card that you are holding turned into the spectator's selected card. You remove your hand completely unharmed and you can give the torn card to the spectator to keep. YOu can immediately remove the board and show the blades are spinning around fast.

This effect is completey safe. It is very easy to do and I think it is a terrific, entertaining routine and effect. The instructions and routine by Devin Knight are detailed, well writen and easy to do. Fandemonium is a very nice alternative to the typical card sword or guillotine effects. I look forward in using it. Even though the effect is $395.00, it is worth it. It is lightweight and easy to carry. You do need a place to plug the fan in. I highly recommend it.

I received your Famdemonium a couple weeks ago and I couldn't wait to use it. After working with it a week or two I got it all worked out. I used it at an all adult audience in Dayton, O . This was an convention of all the radio and TV stations in Dayton. You should of heard the audience when I put my hand thru. They just went wild and they really gave me a great hand even before I was finished. When the show was over I had a TV producer come up and wanted me do this on one of TV talk show out of Dayton. Needless to say we worked out a date for us to do part of our show and also Famdemonium . I can't wait to use it on TV.
Keep bringing on the good illusions like this.Be sure to tell the people that made this they did a great job.

THE PHOENIX: THE TWIRLING CAGE OF FIRE TO DOVE
REVIEW:
First and foremost this a Professional Made Grade Product and is not a lightweight framework cage. As an example, the cage weights about 9-10 pounds and solid as a rock.

All of the Ad Copy is correct and it looks even better than the pictures from the website.

The operation mechanism is manual and is the easiest direct method of accomplishing the effect. No audio sensors, batteries, electronics, and other items than can fail easily are used with the cage. The mechanism is fast in operation and should last a long time without breakage. From a noise standpoint, it makes the typical level of sound than any other mechanism using the same principle.

The effect can be used with or without the fire. The well is made of copper and I have not seen any leakage to any other part of the cage. The flame height normally reaches about 3/4s of the height of the inside of the cage and is very visible. If you have large hands like I do you might have to use a big match (longer than normal) to lite the flame due to the width between the cage vertical fencing.

The production area is not made of cloth, but of grained vinyl for easy cleanup for by-products of the dove.

The handle is attached very well and spins without a lot of resistance. It does made a metallic sound about once per revolution, but it does not draw anyway from the effect. If on stage and with music probably no sound will be heard.

The dove load might require a minimum of tail trimming, just depends on your dove. The instructions make a statement of not leaving the dove inside the load for over two (2) minutes after a setting up four (4) to five (5) minutes before the production. After talking directly with the manufactor, he stated that the time was added after the first run or two of the units as a customer had advised the manufactor that he had to delay his show for 30 minutes and was not able to reset the load during this time and the dove died. I believe that this was an error with the performer not the product as I would never let a dove stay that long. The manufactor stated that he put the two minute note in the instructions after that. Again, if used in a reasonable time I do not see this as a problem. You could even do a very slight mod that would alleviate any concerns if you had any.

I am very pleased and proud to use this product and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The product is everything it says it is and more. Quality and professionally made! This is example of how all magical equipment should be made!

THE PHOENIX - THE TWIRLING CAGE OF FIRE TO DOVE
What a hit!! I used the Fire Cage at the Beaver Town Mall in Cincinnati over the weekend. We had four shows a day Sat.Sun. and we opened with the cage each time. My wife brought it on stage spinning it . I would stop it and put the lighting fluid on it and lit it. After about five sec. so the audience could see the fire Marcia would spin it again and then the dove appeared. The audience really gasp from it. It really went over big.
