Mothers, Infants & Daughters
Aladdin Dance: Girls ages 5-8. A special class that teaches the joys of dance and music to young girls. Focus on Tribal Odyssey, Veil and Tambourine dancing.
Mothers and Infants: Special class for mothers and non-toddling infants. To be offered in Spring 2004.

Women’s Dance – Ages 9 – 99!

Palace Pearls (Intermediate) I: Focus on beautiful arms
and hands while layering isolations, various shimmies and hip work, zils, Tribal Odyssey, improvisation and choreographies.
At this level, the basic isolations should feel natural and you should feel
comfortable performing several choreographies. You MUST be able to lead Tribal
Odyssey fairly well and understand staging concepts as performing Tribal Odyssey
is a primary goal. TIME FRAME: 6 months - 2 years.
Palace Pearls (Intermediate) II: Performance of Tribal Odyssey is a primary goal. Choreographies and improvisation techniques are taught at this level.
Advanced/Professional Sultana Level: Dancers need to be proficient in the following areas: isolations, hip work, veil work, complex zil patterns, spinning and traveling steps and Tribal Odyssey. In order to qualify for this class you must present your own choreography to the instructor in costume. Offered on a private and semi-private basis only – Sword, Double cane, Shamadon, Double Veil, Dancing on Glasses.

Special Topics in Belly Dance: Multi-level
class. Each Saturday we focus on one topic: Veil, Zils,
Intro. to Cane, Circular Veil, Shimmies and Vibrations, the topics
are endless! Pre-requisite:
***Dance Away Your Belly! A Special class for men and women, designed as an alternative to lunch! Focus on abdominal work and aerobic belly dancing! No experience necessary! Class will be offered in Spring 2004.

FEES AND REGISTRATION
COST: 6 week sessions: *** 1 hr. and 1 hr. 15 min. class: $58.00. 1 hr. 45 min. classes: $68.00. Cash, Money orders or personal checks are accepted. Students may postdate checks if needed, just put a big star beside the date and let me know.
MOTHER/DAUGHTER/SISTERS SPECIAL: Moms OR Older Sister pay full price, daughters/sisters under age of 18 pay ($34 for 1 hr. & 1 hr. 15 min. classes), ($44 for 1 hr. 45 min. classes). Other discounted prices for additional classes and partial attendance are in [brackets] below.
SPECIAL MINI SESSIONS: $30, Mother/Sister special: Full price 1st person, $20 for daughter/sister under the age of 18.
DISCOUNTS: 6 week session discount: *** Deduct $10 from cost if paid exactly one week in advance of starting date. Mini-Session Discount: Deduct $2 if paid exactly one week in advance of session start date. These discounts do not apply to already discounted mother/daughter/sister or additional class discounts.
MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNT: Take the first class for full price and the 2nd class for $34.00(1 hr.-1 ¼ hr. class), /$44.00 (1 hr. 45m. class). Take a Mini-Session for $21.00. This is for students who desire to take more than one class per week and is good only for classes meeting during the current session. Payment must be made at the beginning of each session. No additional discounts given on these prices.
ADDITIONAL CLASSES: If you are enrolled full-time, you may attend additional classes (your level) for only $8 [$5] (1 hr. & 1 hr 15 min. classes) and $9 [$6] (1 hr. 45 min. classes) - payable at the beginning of class. Please check the current class schedule. (Inf. in brackets refers to mother/daughter/sister discount)
PARTIAL ATTENDANCE: Students starting classes in the middle of a session or who are unable to take the complete course will pay 1 ¼ hr. classes: $10.00 [$5] per class; the total for each session’s remaining classes to be paid in advance. The cost of one class is $11.00 [$6] 1 Hr., 45 min. classes: $11.00 [$6] per class; the total for each session’s remaining classes to be paid in advance, $12 [$7] for one class.

EX.: I can only attend 4 classes this session. Then pay 4 x $10 or $11 (depending on your class time) = $40 or $44
CLASS COMBINATION: If you can't attend all the classes offered in one session - than you can mix classes (appropriate levels) from different days. For instance, you could take 3 classes on Monday and 3 on Thursday. Just give me the dates of the classes you will be attending in advance.
***NEW STUDENTS: Can start Niles Nymphs I classes at anytime – it doesn’t have to be at the beginning of a session. An Orientation Session or New Student Special (see below) plus Director Approval is required to join an existing Nile Nymphs II course.
RETURN CHECK CHARGE: The Service Charge is $25.00 for all checks returned by our bank for insufficient funds.
NO REFUNDS: except at the discretion of the director for extreme circumstances.
MALE STUDENTS: Men are encouraged to take private lessons, as the group classes are geared towards women and feminine styles of dance.

NEW STUDENTS – PRIVATE LESSONS
***New students can elect to take private or semi-private lessons with their friends at
my home studio, Sands of Time, Cross Junction, VA.
The class is scheduled at mutually agreed upon time.
Please see the costs for these lessons at the end of this brochure.
CLASS MAKE-UPS
A make-up coupon will be given for classes missed due to illness, family emergencies, work schedule or bad weather conditions. Please phone (540) 888-4344 before or during the missed class and leave a message on my machine or send me an email. Please do not do both – it’s too confusing! Requests for make-ups will ONLY be issued within 24 hours of missing a class.
Details: If you know ahead of time that you will be missing a class and would like a make-up coupon - please either email or tell me before or after class so I can issue you a coupon. Make-up coupons are not cash. They can not be refunded for cash or used to pay for private lessons, workshops or as cash deductions for the next session. Coupon is good to make-up one dance class provided student is currently enrolled full-time; otherwise, present coupon + $4.00 for class make-up. Student must present coupon at time of make-up or full payment for class is due. Please obtain current schedule of classes, make-up policy & attend a class in your level.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS
No special clothing is required, although dance/ballet shoes are recommended. Leggings, midriff tops, flowing broomstick skirts, ballet wear, sweats, aerobic wear are suitable. A hip scarf is recommended for women’s classes.
Women’s/Teens: Finger Cymbals ($12-$16) and a veil ($12-$25) are required for 2nd six weeks class. Bring a large towel to use for the stretching portion of class.
Information is provided at your first class to locate or purchase necessary items.
